The Montenegrin Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs has announced that a tender commission has been formed and that a call for tender for airport concessions of airports in Tivat and Podgorica will be announced soon.
It is expected that the call for interested parties will be published in the “Economist” magazine and in the local media no later than 10 October 2019. The tender procedure should consist of two stages. The first phase, i.e. the pre-qualification period, is expected to last 45 days.
As a reminder, back in July the Government of Montenegro adopted a concession decision, based on which the Montenegrin airports – Tivat and Podgorica – will be given for concession. Also, it was announced that the concessions procedure for the above-mentioned airports and signing of the contracts with the concessionaire should be completed by March 2020.
The invitation to selected consortia or companies to submit binding bids shall follow the selection of qualified bidders. This phase of the procedure will last 60 days, after which the tender commission will consider the submitted bids.
